Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the BAGALEPA mobile app and website ("BAGALEPA", "we", "us") collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. BAGALEPA is a private platform for verified members of the 22 Gam Leuva Patidar Samaj. By using BAGALEPA you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile

Name, username, email, phone number, password (stored only as a secure hash), profile photo, village, date of birth, gender, marital status, and parent / family reference details. These are used to verify real community membership and to run village-based features.

Content you share

Posts, photos, videos, stories, comments, likes, chat messages, event and announcement entries, cricket teams, players, scores and match videos you add.

Device and usage

Push notification token, app version, basic device information, and online/offline status used for chat. Crash and performance information may be collected to fix problems. The ads SDK collects the device and ad data listed in section 3.

Camera, photos and microphone

Only when you choose to: to take or pick photos and videos, to stream a cricket match live, or to fill entries by voice. We do not access them in the background.

2. How we use information

  • To create and verify accounts and keep fake accounts out.
  • To show community, village and cricket content, and to send notifications you asked for.
  • To moderate content, handle reports within 24 hours and keep the community safe.
  • To show ads through Google AdMob (ads may use device identifiers as described by Google).
  • To improve and secure the service.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

BAGALEPA is free and shows banner ads from Google AdMob in a few places, for example between posts and on some pages. Verified members do not see ads. We do not show full-screen or video ads that you have to wait through.

To show ads, limit how often they repeat, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the app may collect and send to Google:

  • the device advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID, or Apple IDFA only if you allow it) or other app-scoped identifiers;
  • IP address and the approximate (city-level) location worked out from it;
  • device and app information such as phone model, operating system, language and app version;
  • ad information such as which ads were shown and whether they were tapped;
  • crash and performance data of the ads SDK.

Google processes this data as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy. We do not give advertisers or Google your name, email, phone number, village, family details, posts, photos or chat messages.

Your choices

  • Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message. Without consent, only non-personalised ads are shown.
  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (or opt out of ads personalisation).
  • iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
  • You can manage how Google personalises ads at My Ad Center.

Ads in BAGALEPA are not directed at children.

4. YouTube and Google API Services

BAGALEPA uses YouTube API Services so that match organisers can stream cricket matches live to the BAGALEPA YouTube channel, and so that match videos can be played inside the app. By using these features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and your use is also covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

  • What we access: only the BAGALEPA channel owner signs in with Google. We use that permission to create, start, update and end live broadcasts and live streams on the BAGALEPA channel, and to read the channel's name, picture and public statistics.
  • What we store: the channel ID, channel name and a Google access (refresh) token, stored on our secured server only to run live streaming. We store the YouTube video ID of each match so viewers can watch it in the app.
  • What we do not do: we do not access any other YouTube or Google account data, we do not share this data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Your control: the channel owner can disconnect at any time in the app (Cricket → Live streaming settings → Disconnect) or remove access at Google security settings. Stored tokens are deleted when disconnected.

5. Sharing

Your profile and posts are visible to other verified members as set by the app (public community feed or your village only). We use trusted providers to run the service: cloud hosting and storage (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Cloudinary), Google Firebase (notifications), Google AdMob (ads) and YouTube (video). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect members' safety.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can request account deletion inside the app (Settings → Privacy settings → Delete account) or by email to bagalepa@gmail.com. Your profile, posts and personal data are then deleted, except what we must keep for legal or safety reasons.

7. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and passwords are hashed. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Children

BAGALEPA is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; important changes are announced in the app.
